How to Wax & Shine

There are many different products on the market today for waxes. There are synthetic or carnauba waxes which come in different forms such as spray waxes, paste waxes or liquid waxes.

Waxing is the last step in the exterior detailing processes and provides that extra pop and depth to the vehicles shine. We recommend sealing the paint and then applying wax to provide the ultimate Bull Shine.

Spray Waxes are the quickest way to wax the vehicle and is the least amount of effort. Simply spray the wax on a small section or on one panel of the vehicle, wipe the wax with from front to back with a high quality microfiber towel and flip the towel over to remove any extra residue and buff the paint into a high quality shine.

Liquid waxes are also a great way to wax your vehicle and provide amazing results and shine. These are normally applied either by hand or machine in very thin layers. Thin layers are the key.

Step by Step

Hand Application

  1. Always wax your car in a cool shaded area or indoors. Once the wax dries on the vehicle it is very difficult to remove.
  2. Ensure the vehicle is completely dry to prevent streaking.
  3. Apply a very thin layer of wax to the car using a foam wax applicator pad starting at the front of the panel and working your way to the back
  4. After the wax begins to haze, wipe and buff off the wax with a very high quality microfiber towel, like the Plush No Edge Microfiber Towel or the Plushie Microfiber Towel.

Machine Application

  1. Us e a foam finishing pad and put 4 dabs of liquid wax around the foam pad and work it into the pad with your hand. This helps to avoid sling. If you are using paste wax, you will want to spread the wax in a thin layer over the pad.
  2. Before turning the polishing machine on, move the pad back and forth on the panel and this will also reduce any risk of sling.
  3. Start the polishing machine to a low speed, max of 3. Spread the wax over the panel until there is a thin even coat.
  4. Tip: turn the machine off and allow the pad to continue to run over the paint before lifting it off the panel.
  5. After the wax begins to haze, wipe and buff off the wax with a very high quality microfiber towel, like the Plush No Edge Microfiber Towel or the Plushie Microfiber Towel.

Advice: Layer is the best way to make your paint POP. To make your paint POP, apply a paint sealer and then wax your car following the steps above.
